We are all about energy conservation and have been for a long time. The background on this web site is black for three reasons. It makes it look better, it's easier on the eyes, and it uses much less energy than a white, or any other color screen. Any portion of your computer screen that is black is the equivalent of being turned off. Google did it for one day,
we do it permanently.
